Our car broke down on I-81 near these highway robbers calling them selves mechanics. We spent the night in a hotel. It turned out to be a fuel pump in an 04 Chevy cavalier. They diagnosed it quickly and said they could get us on the road and said it would be around $500. They said $390 for the part and 2 hours labor. I started questioning him because I can get the part online for $50-$100 and a little over $200 at a local napa. He said, well it has a lifetime warranty and we have to get it from the dealership. I told him we don't need a part like this the car has tons of miles and is 12 years old. Then I asked him if the warranty can be claimed in New York where we came from and he said he would look it up and call us back. He never did. 6 hours later we showed up to get the car. The owner was in a horrible mood and charged us $80 just to diagnose this, said it took about an hour which is BS. While we waited that 6 hours at a hotel the part got ordered for $60 and we rented a u-haul auto transport for $150 and my father came in his truck and hauled it back. Had it done in a little over an hour watching a YouTube video doing it ourselves. These people are crooks, liars and inexperienced if the job is going to take so long.
